Hospital food. Again. I know.

When comparing hospital pizza, you know you are starting with the bar set very low. However. When you love bad pizza, is the worse pizza better? There's something to think about. The pizza at UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica is far and away better than the pizza at Renown Medical Center in Reno. But is it worse??? I think it might be. They are so different that it's kind of like comparing Reese's pieces with peanut butter M&M's. Definitely in the same family, but probably not even first cousins. In Reno the pizza is big fat puffy fluffy soft yummy wedges with toppings and kind of a bland crust (think worst Costco pizza you ever had), whereas in Santa Monica the pizza is flat and thin and individual sized and comes with only cheese and sauce. You know what, I'm not going to pick a favorite. I'm going to love them both for who they are and the happiness they have given me. Because that is the kind of open minded, loving, non-judgmental person I am. xo, pizza.

As the only reader of this blog who has had the Reno pizza, I have to say it is very good in a reminiscence of youth sort of way. Not objectively good, but you definitely want to eat it.

Interesting. I don't think I ever had pizza like this in my youth (same youth as yours, btw), but I know exactly what you mean!

Proof!! The pizza you speak of is lunchroom pizza, but I am sure the lunchrooms in malibu had better pizza than in Greenbelt, MD. it is good if you put enough pepper on it, which takes like 9 of those stupid ass little pepper packets. If salt is the one that you are supposed to limit, why do they give you about a teaspoon of salt per packet, and 14 pepper flakes?

For me it is imperative to cover every exposed surface in either pickled jalapenos or hot sauce or both. Yesterday I made a breakfast burrito with eggs and hash browns and i paid for it and went to put hot sauce on it and there was none so I threw the whole thing away. Mary was incredulous.

I am incredulous!! Though on my desk I have green tabasco, smoked tabasco, and Louisiana crystal hot sauce, so I never am without it.

That is some serious dedication to hot sauce! I am amazed too.
