In this dining room...
Yes it will make it look smaller and yes it is pretty much black, but is small necessarily bad for a dining room? It's cozy and intimate. It has a sparkly chandelier and I will have a mirror. Below the chair rail I'm gonna do the matching color in paint, but no pattern. Thoughts?
p.s. It goes without saying that the red curtains will be gone, just clearing that up. Also, that is not my dining table or rug. Ha! Yeah right. Mine's better.

I like the wallpaper a lot, but does it just come that way, or can you make adjustments? I think if you could make the white lines thicker, it might be better. I just think that you might not be able to see them well enough as they are now.
WOAH! Very interesting. When you see it I don't think you'll think that, though, it's pretty bold. But no, they do not custom print wallpaper :)
Please tell me you will keep the lovely pads on the dining room chairs though! :) Did you get the black chair? Now I want a black dining room with sparkly everything, not light coffee or whatever I am most likely going with. Custom wallpaper sounds like a good idea to me though.
